I love this post, Kate. It’s so thoughtful and inspiring. Just reading it makes me believe I can manage if catastrophe strikes or I just want to make a life choice that requires it. Thank you.

I hope it is genuinely so helpful for anyone who finds themselves in a bad spot regarding food. Starting over is hard, but I've had to do it twice and it takes time but it's possible to recover.

Awesome post! I can imagine the time it took to do this was a lot but it’s very helpful!

This is a brilliant list! I have made it a priority to stock up on pantry staples or something extra, or special each trip and in time it has afforded me a killer pantry with a lot of diversity and options .i still stick to my budget, yet have many options from my pantry. Thank you for sharing. It is possible, takes commitment and creativity.

You def. spent more than 2 hours working on this one. I understand why. It's so hard to listen to the I "can't" attitude all the time, when it's really I "won't". There is so much good information available for FREE out there in the world to lower costs but folks really seem paralyzed by something. What do you think that is?

Mm, no, it was about 2 hours of work! But I do extensive grocery planning every week, so I’m skilled at it. I think the biggest barrier for people is that changing how you eat from convenience to scratch cooking is actually very difficult if no one taught you how to do it! And a lot of people never learned.

That's terrific, I'd just never want you to minimize your efforts. You sharing your skill helps me for sure. I appreciate you.
